If you haven’t air fried frozen dumplings, then you’re in for a treat! These Air Fryer Dumplings come together quickly and easily without having to thaw them. This method works for frozen potstickers, gyoza, and wontons as well. Plus, no need to worry about oil splatter to get crispy dumplings!

I love crispy dumplings but I hate dealing with oil splatter. Thanks to the air fryer, you can now get crispy dumplings without having to deal with oil splatter. Plus, there’s no flipping them every two minutes to get each side to crisp up. The air fryer turns making crispy dumplings into a hands-free recipe.

Can you cook dumplings in an air fryer?

Yes! I mean, unless you’re making them from scratch then you’ll have to cook the dumplings’ filling first but if you have a bag of frozen dumplings, potstickers, gyozas, or wontons, then simply pop them into the air fryer. It’s so easy to cook dumplings in an air fryer.

  • frozen dumplings — I find some crisp up better in the air fryer than others. I would test out one dumpling first to see if the results is what you’d like. I always recommend that you try 1 serving first just to make sure as not all air fryers work the same (ie some need preheating and some don’t).
  • oil spray — this helps the frozen dumplings crisp up in the air fryer.

  • Place the frozen dumplings into the air fryer basket. Spray generously with oil, making sure to get all the sides.
  • Air fry the frozen dumplings for 8 minutes at 375F. Shake the basket and continue to air fry for 2 more minutes if you’d like the dumplings to be crispier.

Recipe Tips and Notes

  • Do not thaw the frozen dumplings before air frying.
  • Air fry frozen dumplings in a single layer, leaving some space between each dumpling so the hot air can circulate. Do not stack the dumplings.
  • Cooking time will vary with the size of your dumplings and your air fryer model.
  • Want to make homemade potstickers? Try my pork potstickers recipe. Simply air fry them after freezing if you want to make them like you do with the storebought frozen dumplings. I also have a homemade pork and kimchi dumpling recipe!
  • To make a dipping sauce for this frozen dumplings in an air fryer recipe, I usually just eyeball a combination of soy sauce and sesame oil and sprinkle some toasted seasame seeds on top.

How long to cook frozen potstickers in the air fryer?

I always start at 8 minutes for any frozen dumplings or potstickers and go from there. I find that at 375F, it doesn’t take more than 8 to 10 minutes to cook frozen potstickers.

Where to buy frozen dumplings?

I’ve noticed that more and more stores carry frozen dumplings. Costco even carries the Korean bibigo brand of dumplings!

What temperature do I cook dumplings in air fryer?

I find the sweet spot to be around 375F. I find that 400F browns the exterior a little too quick and 350F isn’t hot enough for potstickers in air fryer.

    Meh. Didn’t work for me. I coated them in oil, but they looked exactly the same as when I didn’t coat them in oil. Ugh. Back to the pan.

    What’s weird is that the bulgogi I bought from Costco turned out great, so I had high hopes.

    (Not blaming you. I might be doing something wrong.)
