You may have found yourself with too much vegan cheese, or had a vegan cheese evening and there are a few scraps of plant based cheese goodness remaining.

What to do? You may have had your fill and want to save some for later but the best before date is getting close.

Fear not, you can save them for later by putting the vegan cheeses in to your freezer.

We have had fantastic results with freezing most of the vegan cheeses we have tried over the years and never had one come out bad after freezing.

They're texture has remained the same after defrosting and none have been ruined.

It doesn't matter what texture or form the vegan cheese is in, obviously you don't need to freeze nutritional yeast, but semi-firm, soft, firm and even vegan cream cheeses have all done well frozen and then defrosted.

This does not mean that they can be defrosted in a microwave, this may be possible but is not something we have tried.

We have always left out the vegan cheese on the side for a couple of hours, usually in the afternoon if we want it that evening and the results have been positive.

You can also be reassured that a lot of vegan cheese producers recommend that you freeze if you want to save their vegan cheese for a later date.
