How long does IDEXX keep samples? ›
IDEXX routinely retains blood and serum specimens for a minimum of 48 hours after receipt at the laboratory, after which the samples will be destroyed. Individual country laboratories may retain specimens for a longer period; please confirm retention periods directly with the laboratory to which you submit a specimen.

Samples should be run within 30 minutes of collection. If this is not possible, urine should be stored in a clean, sealed container and refrigerated immediately (up to 12 hours). Samples should be brought to room temperature before analysis.

How long can a blood sample stay good before being analyzed? ›
It is highly recommended blood samples should arrive in the laboratory within 24 hours of collection – the laboratory may not be able to process samples received after this time. Overnight storage of blood samples before dispatch to the laboratory is not recommended and actively discouraged.
