International Day of Happiness - Why Spring is a happy season (1)

Not only is it the Spring Equinox today, but it is also the International Day of Happiness. While you might not currently be feeling at your happiest, particularly based on the current circ*mstances, Spring is actually one of the happiest seasons. Let us tell you why:

The season is about re-birth and life. The birds are back and chirping outside, the flowers are starting to bloom and trees are beginning to get their leaves back. Not only that but there are hundreds of new baby animals such as baby bunnies and lovely lolloping lambs to look at which will give you that happy, warm and fuzzy feeling.

After a long, dark winter, we finally get to enjoy more daylight hours when Spring rolls around. This alone gives us energy and enables our bodies to produce our happy hormone: serotonin.

In addition, the increased amount of daylight generally comes with more sunshine and warmer temperatures. Combined, these factors give us the opportunity to go outside a lot more and do more activities which we couldn't do in the depths of winter.

So, you see the season oozes happiness with the promise of new life, rebirth and endless opportunities to help you feel happier.
