This is the second model of egg cooker from Sunbeam, distinctive for its clear plastic tube mounted on top used to measure the water. On one end of the tube is a dial that one turns to move the red divider inside the tube; you use it to measure the water you put in the bottom of the cooker for soft boiled eggs.
You measure the water, put it into the well, place the flat ring in place, add the eggs, put on the lid and flip the on/off switch. When the cooker boils dry, it turns off automatically when the eggs are cooked just right.
For Hard boiled eggs, use the tube on the top to measure the water. Put the water in the bottom, put on the lid, switch it to on, and in no time you'll have up to six eggs hard boiled. There is even a sharp pin inside the lid to pierce the small end of the eggs.
This one is in excellent condition. It comes with a detachable cord set and the original instructions.

Does the Dash rapid egg cooker actually work? In short, yes it does work—and it works very well. The hard-boiled eggs were hard-boiled, the poached eggs were poached and the omelettes were light and fluffy—but this was only the case when the water levels were set right.
For fully cooked eggs, cook for approximately 7-8 minutes at which time the food should rise upward, otherwise you may pour out the eggs. For softer eggs, pour out eggs from cooking chamber after cooking for about 5-6 minutes.
Fill the measuring cup (Figure 1) to the appropriate line. The numbers on the measuring cup represent the number of eggs to be cooked. For best results, use distilled or filtered water - tap water contains minerals that can cause eggs to discolour.
A: It's important to poke the hole into the fat end of the egg. This is because each egg has an air pocket at this end. And set the egg into the tray with the hole up so that this sulphury air can properly escape. You're venting the nasty stuff that you don't want infusing into the egg.
Once all the water is gone, a cute jingle will play to alert you that your eggs are done. After that, I tend to plunge them into ice water to prevent them from overcooking, but that's not a necessary step.
But once the water is turned to steam, it condenses on the shells and drips back down into the boiler tray, to be recycled. So with more eggs you have more surface area, therefore more condensation dripping back down and a longer cooking time for less water.
Pricking the egg provides a quick escape route for the air, which gives you an egg with a smoothly rounded end. If you prick an egg, watch for a jet of air shooting from the hole as the egg cooks. Scientists disagree on the other possible benefits of pricking an egg.
Place an egg in each designated spot in the Boiling Tray. Make sure that the holes in the larger end of the eggs are pointed upwards. WARNING: Do not lock the Lid when using your Rapid Egg Cooker as this may cause injury when removing the Lid once the buzzer sounds.
An electric egg boiler saves you a lot of time. Since an egg boiler uses steam, it takes less time to boil eggs. Apart from saving time, it consumes less energy. If you're looking to save time in the kitchen, get an egg boiler that is quick and easy to use.
Microwave cookers will cook your eggs in no time. You can make yourself a plate of scrambled eggs in less than four minutes, or boiled eggs in 7 to 8 minutes only. The quick cooking times make this a great and worthwhile investment.
