I’m calling it, folks: It’s time to retire the word “amazing.”

Or at least put it out to pasture for a while.

Over the last few years, this seven-letter word has become more over-used than a can of Aqua Net at an 80s fashion shoot. It’s an all-too-easy go-to that robs us of our creative ability to express true wonder, and it’s time to set it aside.

Can we all agree to do that?

Once while I was in a grocery store, I saw someone dressed up in a cow costume, who was dancing around to promote the stores dairy products. I thought it was "Udderly Amazing". My teenage kids sometimes use the adjectives "rad" or "bodacious" to describe things which would otherwise qualify as the retired "amazing". I usually qualify such things or events as having "high wow factor" or "high geek appeal".
