Research by the CIPD (2023) indicates that an increasing number of companies are implementing wellbeing initiatives to support their staff with overall wellbeing and personal development. As Mental Health Awareness Week approaches, I'm gearing up to host sessions across various organisations which enable people to development themselves and their mindsets. Popular sessions include: > Building confidence and self-belief> Befriending the inner critic> Overcoming imposter syndrome> Journaling for well-being> Tapping into core happiness> Overcoming fear > Building better boundariesI'm curious, what does your company do to prioritise staff wellbeing, not just during the MHA week, but throughout the entire year?#mentalhealthawarenessweek #groupcoaching #happinessatwork #personalgrowth

What an amazing way to finish a great week - journaling in a quiet, calm space with fellow coaches. Unbelievably, it was only in January that Katie Poole and I first met at The Coaches Gathering community. Here, we exchanged our journaling journey's and couldn't believe how many similarities we shared. That is where we planted the seed of creating a special journaling space for coaches to come together and reflect on their businesses. And today was that day. It was everything we hoped it would be - calm, reflective, supportive, gentle, peaceful, structured - a real self care space. I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came along and to Katie for being such a wonderful co-host.One of the beautiful prompts that Katie shared was this one here; 'Where does the rainbow end - in your soul or on the horizon?' - we often associate the end of the rainbow with pots of gold, always just out of reach. I love this invitation to consider the end of the rainbow differently, and perhaps the pot of gold is within you.Happy Friday everyone. #coachingbusiness #journaling #fridaythoughts

Acknowledging your strengths provides a solid foundation for building confidence by having greater awareness of your capabilities, being intentional about using them and subsequently being able to communicate them to others.Talking openly about what you're good at is something many people struggle with. Especially when it comes to appraisal meetings, promotions or pitching for projects. Taking time to reflect on your strengths is a hugely worthwhile exercise when you're working on developing your confidence. But answering that question 'so tell me about your strengths', is not easy. If you get stuck, try instead thinking 'What would my colleagues say my strengths or strongest attributes are?'. This can help unlock your perspective and identify lots of strengths that others see in you. Give it a try. This was one of the tools I shared today at Illumina 's 'building confidence and self-belief' lunchtime workshop. I greatly admire how Illumina offer these optional sessions to staff to support them with their personal and professional development, and discover new ways to improve their well-being.If you are looking for workshops or lunchtime sessions for your team, do get in touch to discuss your objectives or ideas. With Mental Health Awareness Week coming up w/c 13th May, it might be the perfect time to get something in the diary. #workshops #professionaldevelopment #confidence Ian Lambell Fiona Tanner Jennifer Alsop

Journaling prompts I use on a Monday to help me focus:1. What are my three non-negotiables today?2. What one thing will I do for myself?3. What three quick wins can I do that take less than five minutes?4. What one thing will I be most relieved that gets ticked off the list come the end of the day? I find that having these already set out for me helps to have a productive and intentional day. I’ve even started using these on a Sunday night to help settle any overwhelm and ensure i start Monday feeling calm. But these actually work on any day, not just a Monday. Do you use prompts to help you stay focused? If so, which work for you?#journalingprompts #mondaymotivation

Coaching skills are life skills. When you master your coaching skills, you become a better manager, partner, friend and parent. Mastering coaching skills enhances your ability to inspire, motivate, and support others in achieving their full potential across different roles and relationships.Essentially, self-awareness and coaching skills are interdependent, with each reinforcing and complementing the other. By building your self-awareness, you enhance your ability to connect with others, facilitate growth and development, and inspire positive change both within yourself and the people around you. Here are five ways you could begin to develop your coaching skills (therefore improving your relationships):1. Develop knowledge: Get curious about coaching topics such as active listening, powerful questioning and psychological safety. Look out for opportunities to learn from experienced coaches - LinkedIn is a great place to start with that. Podcasts that are helpful too incl. Squiggly Careers, The Coaching Crowd or the Association for Coaching.2. Practice listening: Avoid interrupting and refrain from formulating responses. Strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where people feel heard and valued. Practice with friends, family and colleagues. Embrace silences rather than trying to fill them and see what you notice. It's easier said than done.3. Ask for feedback: You might share that you're working to develop your coaching skills and seek feedback on your communication and listening skills, empathy, rapport-building, and overall get a sense as to how others feel in your company.4. See questions as a tool: We don't tend to view questions as a tool, but they are a powerful part of your coaching toolkit, and once you begin to see questions in that way, there is no end to your potential impact.5. Reflect: Take time to assess what worked well, what could have been done differently, and what lessons you can apply following a conversation with a colleague, line manager or a friend. This is a great way to build self-awareness and learn new things about yourself and your relationships. If you want to develop your coaching skills, and therefore your relationships, I'm running a 1/2 day workshop on 23rd April to help you do just that. Full details here https://lnkd.in/dKaAYF3MAny questions, do let me know. #coachingskills #coachingatwork #workshop
