In his recent biography, Prince Harry has given details of some of his and his mother Diana's favourite foods.

The recently published biography of Prince Harry, ‘In the Shadows’, is causing quite a stir. The book contains many shocking revelations that were previously unknown. Harry also reveals some personal details such as his favourite foods, which coincide with those of Meghan Markle, or his mother Diana’s favourite dessert. We take a look at some of the favourite dishes Prince Harry names in his biography.
Although he has already spoken on more than one occasion about his favourite food, roast chicken, in the book he recounts one of his first dates with his future wife. It is when they discover that they share a favourite dish and set about preparing dinner together. Harry explains that he didn’t know how to prepare it and that night Meghan taught him how to cook it. He also tells us where he likes to order roast chicken from. One of her favourite places is Nando’s, where a whole chicken costs around €17. In the biography, she recounts the moment when Meghan goes to the hospital about to give birth. And while waiting for labour to be induced, Harry decided to order from Nando’s to “optimise” his wife’s peace of mind. The chicken was brought in by bodyguards.
His mother’s favourite dessert
Harry also reveals in his book that one of his favourite desserts is pudding and that bread and butter pudding was a favourite of his mother Diana of Wales. He also says that he once pranked his friend Marko (who was also a big fan of pudding) by adding Tabasco sauce to the dessert. It’s not the only sweet his mother loved. On Harry’s 13th birthday in 1997, they had a celebration at school with cake and pudding. He was given a choice of two flavours and the prince opted for blackcurrant and mango (the latter was the favourite of his mother, who had died just two weeks earlier).
Another of Harry and Meghan’s favourite foods is roast salmon, which they also cook together.
And one of the royal meals, as mentioned in the book, that they once had was a menu consisting of New York sirloin steak, three types of pasta and paired with a good red wine. And as for desserts, Prince Harry’s favourite would be anything with bananas, such as banana flan or banana bread.
As well as talking about his favourite foods, Harry also recounts an episode in which Meghan Markle suffered food poisoning, early in their relationship, after eating British squid, which caused her to vomit all night.
