Preacher Paul, as he was affectionately known, was born July 5, 1920, in Columbus, to Taylor and Viola Bloodworth Glenna Ruth Osborn Strength Glenna Ruth Osoorn Strength, 64, beloved wife of Richard Alan Strength, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at her home in Santee. Bom Aug. 11, 1946, in Oklahoma City, she was a daughter of the late Gerald Osborn and the late Mossele Osborn. She was a mother, a Annie Mace and Conner Mace. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by Mary Lou Hank and Gail Rodman, who thought of her as a mother. Funeral services for Mrs. Mace will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at George Funeral Home Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg. Memorial contributions may be directed to Meals on Wheels, P.O.

Born in Orangeburg, Nell was the daughter of the late Fred and Margaret Johnson. She moved to Aiken in 1954 from Orangeburg.

Nell was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church and wasare tired librarian from Aiken High School. Known to many as Granny, she loved to garden, take care other bird baths, cook for her family and neighbors, and spend time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Duncan) Rutherfurd of Aiken; a son, Ronnie (Sharon) Mace of Windsor; and eight grandchildren, Travis Mace, Josh Mace, Ryan Shee-ley, Fresca Rutherfurd, Duncan Rutherfurd, Emmie Mace, Janie Kemmerlin Culler Janie Kemmerline Culler, 94, of Orangeburg, died March 14, 2011, after an extended illness. Mrs.

Culler was the widow of Willis Calhoun Culler. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at Limestone UnitedMethodist Church with the Rev. John M. Williams III officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Culler was born in Cal -houn County, a daughter of the late Walter Wise Kemmerlin and Maggie Syfrett Kemmerlin.

She was co-owner of Garwil Poultry Company and a homemaker, being remembered especially for her love of her family, her pets and her cooking talent. Mrs. Culler was amember of Limestone United Methodist Church. Mrs. Culler was preceded in death by four brothers, Marion Walter Raymond and Rudolph H.

Kemmerlin, and three sisters, Lois K. Arant, Ruth K. Wardlow and Dorothy K. Arant; grandchildren Harvey Evans Felkel III and Jay Culler Gardner; and great-grandchild James Evan Chancey Chancey Foy Smith, 32, of Lexington, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m.

Friday, March 18, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Crest-lawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg. He was born Dec. 31, 1978, in Orangeburg, the son of Phillip D.

Smith and Joyce Ann Hil-bourn Smith. He served in the U.S. Marines and was employed by U.S. Food Services. He was vice president of S.C.

Jessie Pelzer McWillie, 104, of Lawton Road, Orangeburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at Olive Grove Baptist Church in Orangeburg, with the Rev. James A. Cromartie officiating. She was born Oct.

6, 1906, in Orangeburg County and de -parted this earth on Monday, March 14, at Calhoun Convalescent Center in St Matthews following a brief illness. Mrs. Pelzer was the daughter of the late George Pelzer and the late Mary Jane Jones Pelzer. Jessie attended the public schools of Orangeburg. She ac -cepted Jesus Christ at an early age and became a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church.

At an early age, she moved to the New Jersey and New York areas and remained there until 1987, when she relocated back to her beloved home, Orangeburg. She worked for more than 30 years in the garment district of New York City, at Lowman Dress Company. Jessie was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of New York, N.Y. for more than 50 years. She was a member of the missionary board.

Those who knew Jessie can attest that she was a proud, no-nonsense woman. She loved to cook and work in her yard. Most of all, she loved her family. She leaves to cherish her memories a niece, Jannie M. Jeffries, and a nephew, Howard B.

Pelzer, both of Orangeburg; grandnephews, Vaughan, James and Harley Jeffries; grandnieces, JoAnn Biske and Andria Jeffries; and a host of great-grandnephews and nieces, devoted neighbors and friends. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Bythewood Funeral Home in Orangeburg. After servingin the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II, he accepted a call into the min Rev. Calllcutt istry. He was ordained at Beallwood Baptist Church, Columbus, Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland, and Mercer University in Macon, Ga. He served pastorates at Green Fork Baptist Church in Millen, Rosemary Baptist Church in Williston and Colston Baptist Church in Bamberg, retiring as pastor emeritus in 1985.

Still wanting to serve his Lord, he pastored Open Door Baptist Church in Bamberg and Memorial Baptist Church in Olar, as well as several other church fields in an interim basis. Preacher Paul conducted his final sermon from behind the pulpit at Memorial Baptist Church in 2005 at the age of 85, concluding 53 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Minnie Wright Caliicutt; a son, Paul Caliicutt Jr. and his wife Deborah Abrams Callicutt of Summerville; two daughters, Brenda Callicutt Corell and her husband Alan Corell of Brandon, and Beverly Callicutt Papalski of Aiken; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.

Witness: Boy Idolized school shooters MYRTLEBEACH-A psychologist has testified that a South Carolina boy charged with wounding a school resource officer in Horry County and bringing pipe bombs to school idolized other school shooters. The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports the testimony came during a hearing Tuesday on whether the youth should be tried as an adult in the September incident at Socastee High School. Defense psychologist Joel Heffler says the 15-year-old suffers depression, anxiety and attention deficit disorder but is a good student. Heffler says the youth is sorry for the pain he 's caused others but also idolizes other school shooters. Heffler says the student needs two to three years of intensive men-' tal health treatment.
