A musing, definitely ripe for debate, coming from George Orwell and first published in The Evening Standard, on January 12th, 1946. Tea at this time was still rationed but that doesn’t stop him and his dictates on strong tea. Otherwise, he has some valid points.

One reason why Orwell might have written "A Nice Cup of Tea" might be due to the fact that Orwell loved tea. His experiences in growing up in India and Burma might have helped develop his love of tea, and being a British subject, the love of tea is something that is taken as an issue of national pride.
The temperature of the water decides how quickly flavour and structure is released. The higher the temperature, the quicker the release. A cup of tea made with boiling water will look darker, taste stronger and have more structure than a cup of tea made with 80-degree water that has infused for the same amount of time.
Tea: A cup of tea symbolizes Miss Smith's needs. While Rosemary is out examining expensive jewelry boxes, Miss Smith simply seeks a cup of tea. This symbolizes just how little the woman has in terms of everyday necessities.
Answer: In A Cup of Tea by Katherine Mansfield we have the theme of jealousy, insecurity, materialism and class. ... It would have been uncommon (at the time the story was written) for those considered to be of a lower class (Miss Smith) to engage with those considered to be upper class (Rosemary).
Orwell's message is this: Malicious groups of people, like the pigs, will continue to use propaganda to usurp power, to exploit the vulnerable, and to control the masses, unless courageous individuals spread the truth and stand up for those who cannot fight for themselves.
Theme. There are three main themes in Katherine Mansfield's "A Cup of Tea'': materialism and class, feminism, and envy and insecurity. Rosemary invited Miss Smith to her home and vowed to treat her as if she were her sister. However, when Philip showed admiration for Miss Smith, Rosemary became envious of Miss Smith.
Orwell wrote that "tea is one of the mainstays of civilisation in this country and causes violent disputes over how it should be made", and his rules cover such matters as the best shape for a teacup, the advisability of using water that is still boiling, and his preference for very strong tea.
Our top tip is never to pour boiling water over a tea bag or loose tea. The reason for this is that the boiling water will burn the tea and scald it; therefore, the tea doesn't release all of its maximum flavours. Tea is a delicate plant and needs to be cared for carefully to receive the full benefits.
Pouring boiling water on your tea can burn the leaves and bring out unwanted bitterness. In general green and white teas need a temperature of 140°F to 185°F. Black or herbal teas should be 208°F to 212°F.
You can use to a T or to a tee to mean perfectly or exactly right. For example, if something suits you to a T, it suits you perfectly. If you have an activity or skill down to a T, you have succeeded in doing it exactly right.
Tea offers numerous health benefits – it's a relaxing drink that helps increase our attention and focus, is heart-friendly, good for the gut and may help manage blood sugar. Tea makes a useful option if you are looking for a flavourful, low-calorie, unsweetened hot drink with less caffeine than coffee.
How much tea? This depends on how you like your tea but a good rule of thumb is a heaped teaspoon of tea and one teacup (5.5 fl oz/150ml) of water per person. Our rare teas are of such high quality that the same leaves can be infused several times.

The moral of a story is the lesson that story teaches about how to behave in the world. Moral comes from the Latin word mores, for habits. The moral of a story is supposed to teach you how to be a better person. If moral is used as an adjective, it means good, or ethical.
